WIP: SR-71 Blackbird ; Italeri 1/72. – Entre el Reto y la Nostalgia –

– Between Challenge and Nostalgia –
One summer in the 1980s, I built and painted this same model. At that time, I didn’t even know that repanelling existed. I painted it with black Humbrol spray paint, and the resulting texture was literally good enough to scratch your back with.
Unfortunately, I lost the model, but I still have some models from many years ago with their ‘things’.
This aircraft is fascinating, and I really like it. I’ve taken a couple of days off from other projects to try my hand at repanelling and rescue this model, which isn’t in such bad shape.
Yes, I know that not all the panels have been reproduced, nor do I intend to do so. I’m simply going to redo the ones that come with the kit. If anyone doesn’t like it, please refrain from commenting.
This model is going to be something else: a self-tribute and an exercise in painting black.

– Entre el Reto y la Nostalgia –
En un verano de los 80 construí y pinté este mismo modelo, en aquella época lo de repanelar ni sabía que existía, lo pinté con un spray de Humbrol negro, la textura resultante servía literalmente para arrascarse la espalda.
Desgraciadamente perdí el modelo, con sus «cosas» aún conservo algún modelo de hace muchos años.
Este aparato es fascinante y me gusta mucho, me he tomado un par de días de descanso de otros proyectos para probarme con los repanelados y rescatar esta maqueta que de formas no está tan mal.
Si, se que no están todos los paneles reproducidos, ni los pienso hacer, simplemente voy a rehacer los que trae el kit, si a alguien no le parece bien, por favor que se ahorre el comentario.
Este modelo va a ser otra cosa: Un auto-homenaje y un ejercicio de pintura del color negro.

Artículo: Char B1 bis en «FRENCH ARMOR» de AK Interactive

En este monográfico de AK he publicado mi trabajo sobre el Char B1 bis de Tamiya a escala 1/35, con el vehículo y el terreno por un lado, y la figura por otro.

Podéis ver un completo paso a paso de los procesos que he utilizado, resultando un total de 20 páginas, 16 para el vehículo y el terreno y 4 para la figura.

El monográfico se completa con más artículos de extraordinaria calidad realizados por modelistas de primer nivel, como son Witold Socha, Michael Mandau, Kreangkrai Paojinda, Rick Lawler, Max Lemaire, Abilio Piñeiro, Carlos de Diego Vaquerizo, Émilien Pépin y Oscar Ebrí Casola.

El volumen se completa con una introducción de Émilien Pépin hablando de los kits existentes, perfiles a color, etc.

WIP: JSU-152, Dragon 1/35. Green 4BO applied

I’m taking advantage of these hot days to prepare some airbrush bases so I can then proceed with ageing them with a brush.
So far, I’ve applied the base coat to this JSU-152 with AK Real Colors 4BO Green and hand-painted the unit insignia. The next step will be to apply the winter camouflage and some shading effects.
More progress soon.

Estos días de calor estoy aprovechando para preparar algunas bases aerográficas para luego proceder con el envejecimiento a pincel.
De momento le he aplicado a este JSU-152 la base con 4BO Green de AK Real Colors y pintado a mano los distintivos de unidad, el siguiente paso será aplicar el camu invernal y algunos efectos de sombreado.
Pronto más avances.

WIP: Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf.B; Tamiya1/35. Airbrush base done!

Airbrush base finished and model ready for the most fun part: the weathering.
I used Star Decals to represent a model in Norway, a very interesting campaign that is rarely covered by modellers.
In my opinion, the initial camouflage is very attractive and suits the Panzer I Ausf. B particularly well.

Base aerográfica terminada y maqueta lista para lo más divertido: el weathering.
He usado las calcas de Star Decals para representar un ejemplar de en Noruega, campaña muy interesante y poco tratada por los modelistas.
En mi opinión el camuflaje inicial es muy bonito y le queda especialmente bien al Panzer I Ausf. B.

Ready to paint this little gem from TAMIYA（タミヤ）, to which I have made some improvements, some of which were really unnecessary.
I have added some resin-printed parts such as tool fasteners, hooks, etc. The hooks are fine because they have small holes, but the tool fasteners are very fragile and brittle and have been a bit of a pain, as I have had to replace them piece by piece and I think they would have been better in FG. The chains are also printed in E.T. resin. They assemble well, but you have to be careful because of the small size of the links, some of which were damaged during assembly and ended up being just right, another one broken and ‘not reaching’. Link by link always looks better, but really Tamiya’s section option is more than enough and you can save yourself the trouble if you decide to build the kit.
The machine guns are very good. I was going to replace them, but there’s no need as they are practically perfect. As usual with Tamiya, the moulding and fit are perfect.
Without further ado, here are the photos, and I’m already painting it…

Lista para pintar esta pequeña joya de TAMIYA（タミヤ）, a la que le he hecho algunas mejoras, que realmente algunas no hubieran hecho falta.
Le he implementado algunas piezas impresas en resina como los cierres de herramientas, ganchos, etc., los ganchos están bien porque incorporan los pequeños orificios, pero los cierres de herramientas son muy frágiles y quebradizos y han sido una pequeña tortura, pues he tenido que ir reponiendo a trozos y creo que hubieran quedado mejor de FG, las cadenas son también impresas en resinas de E.T. Model, se montan bien, pero hay que ir con cuidado debido al pequeño tamaño de los eslabones que también algunos se han estropeado durante el montaje y al final han quedado justos, otro más roto y «no llego», siempre quedan mejor eslabón a eslabón, pero realmente la opción de Tamiya a tramos es más que suficiente y os lo podéis ahorrar si decidís contruir el kit.
Muy bien las ametralladoras, iba a sustituirlas pero no hace falta vienen prácticamente perfectas. Como es habitual en Tamiya moldeado y encaje perfectos.
Sin más rollos las fotos y ya lo estoy pintando…

You can see that there are several accessories that are not included in the photos of the painted model, but as I mentioned, my original idea was different, and I’m not sure if I’ll finish it or not. Después de la Galería del KV-1, os muestro las fotografías del modelo montado previo a la pintura, se puede observar que hay varios complementos que no están incluidos en las fotografías del modelo ya pintado, pero como os comenté mi idea original era otra que no se ahora mismo si la finalizaré o no, de momento las imágenes del montaje.
