W.I.P. Grumman FM-1 Wildcat, Tamiya 1/48. (2)

Interiors ready to glue and place in its final location, I have used Eduard’s basic photoetched parts for the detailing and his resin seat with the seat belts. It is painted with Tamiya for the airbrush and AK Acrylics 3Gen for the brush details, soon I will close the fuselage and prepare for the exterior painting.

Interiores listos para pegar y colocar en su emplazamiento definitivo, he utilizado el fotograbado básico de Eduard para el detallado y su asiento de resina con los cinturones de seguridad. Está pintado con Tamiya para el aerografo y Acrilicos 3Gen de AK para los detalles a pincel, en breve cierro el fuselaje y a preparar para la pintura exterior.

This is what you see is assembled in two afternoons, not even 8 hours of work, it is true that it will be necessary to improve and sand things, especially when I fit wings and fuselage.
Sometimes I wonder if I really need more to enjoy this hobby, it is true that there are more recent Wildcats, better made and more detailed, but they also require more effort to assemble.
At the moment this one is ready to start with the few details that I will put inside the cockpit and paint.

Esto que veis está montado en dos tardes mal contadas, ni 8 horas de trabajo, cierto es que habrá que afinar y lijar cosas, sobre todo cuando encaje alas y fuselaje.
A veces me pregunto si realmente hace falta más para disfrutar de este hobby, cierto es que hay Wildcats más recientes, de mejor factura y más detallados, pero también exigen más esfuerzo de montaje.
De momento este esta listo para empezar con los pocos detalles que le pondré dentro de la cabina y pintar.

W.I.P.: Zundapp KS600 Motorcycle & Sidecar, Tamiya 1/35 (4). The Figures.

Working on the outline of the KS600 figures. Outlining these figures is very demanding because of the fine modelling they have, it forces you to make an effort and be very precise, I’m already seeing some touches. The arms are only with a couple of coats of colour to see the whole.
More progress soon.

Trabajando el perfilado en las figuras de la KS600. Perfilar estas figuras es muy exigente por el modelado tan fino que tienen, obliga a esforzarse y ser muy preciso, ya estoy viendo algunos retoques. Los brazos estan solo con un par de manos de color para ir viendo el conjunto.

Tamiya’s B. Buffalo 0 – 1 Joaquín G. Gázquez
The first goal of the match was scored by me, the transparent parts of the COCKPIT of the venerable Tamiya’s MODEL came in one piece and I have been able to section it without damaging it, so I will go ahead with this project. Later I will tell you a “secret” about it.
This MODEL is very special for me, because when I was a kid I remember seeing it in the first TAMIYA（タミヤ） catalog that fell into my hands and it seemed to me something out of this world, how everything changes 😊.
And please refrain from rivet counters, panel shifters and other ashy people with the faults of this 1974 mold (which it will have), it’s an airplane I like and I plan to enjoy it. Best Regards to all. 😇

El primer gol del partido lo he metido yo, la cabina de la venerable maqueta de Tamiya venía en una sola pieza y he sido capaz de seccionarla sin estropearla, así que seguiré para adelante con este proyecto. Más adelante os contaré un «secreto» al respecto.
Esta maqueta es muy especial para mi, pues de crio recuerdo que la vi en el primer catálogo de TAMIYA（タミヤ）que cayó en mis manos y me parecia algo fuera de este mundo, como cambia todo.😊
Y por favor abstenerse cuenta-remaches, cambia-paneles y demás cenizos con los fallos de este molde (que los tendrá) de 1974, es un avión que me gusta y pienso disfrutarlo. Saludos para todos. 😇

W.I.P. Zundapp KS600 Motorcycle & Sidecar, Tamiya 1/35 (3). The Figures.

A continuación os muestro las figuras de la Zundapp montadas y listas para imprimar y pintar, para mayor claridad voy a seguir la nomenclatura del kit:

La B  es la que va sentada en el sidecar, tiene una pose muy natural dejado caer en el asiento, como todas finísimamente modelada. Me he limitado a limpiar bien las rebabas, pocas y muy finas, y montarla tal cual, le he añadido la correa de la MP40 y la del casco hechas en papel por Wako muy finas también acorde a la fineza del conjunto.

La C viéndola es obvio que es el conductor de la moto, es la que menos me gusta, hablo de gustos no de calidad, le he limpiado las rebabas, añadiendo con las tiras de Waco la correa de sujeción del casco, y con lámina de 0.15 mm de plasticard, los tramos que le faltaban de la correa del fusil. El resto tal cual.

Para terminar la que para mi es la joya de la corona, la A, una figura de las que salen de vez en cuando, con un lenguaje corporal excelente, finísima de escultura y modelado. Me encanta. Como a las anteriores solo retoques imprescindibles como un trocito de correa para el fusil y la correa del casco, como anecdota esta tan bien modelada que el casco se desliza y queda en el sitio, no esta ni pegado para la foto con blue-tac.

Ahora a imprimarlas y a pintar.

W.I.P. Zundapp KS600 Motorcycle & Sidecar, Tamiya 1/35 (2). Ready to Paint

Ready to paint the wonderful Zundapp from TAMIYA,  delicious kit, I have assembled it all literally in four afternoons, two for the plastic and two for detailing. The wiring is an electronics hil that a good friend has passed me, the rest “homecocked” and the excellent resin wheels from CMK, for that reason of the thickness of the spokes.

Lista para pintar la maravillosa Zundapp de TAMIYA, delicioso kit, lo he montado todo literalmente en cuatro tardes, dos para el plástico y dos para detallar. El cableado es un hil de electrónica que me ha pasado un buen amigo, el resto «homecocked» y las excelentes ruedas de resina de CMK, por aquello del grosor de los radios.

W.I.P. Zundapp KS600 Motorcycle & Sidecar, Tamiya 1/35 (1)

Lovely last bike from TAMIYA（タミヤ） a real joy, I placed the CMK resin wheels because the spokes of the originals are out of scale and detract from the whole, the set of CMK in 3D printing is magnificent with a subtle weight effect, I just had to review the diameter of the axles to fit perfectly.
In the next session I want to add the wiring and leave it ready to paint.

Preciosa la última moto de TAMIYA（タミヤ） una auténtica gozada, le colocado las ruedas de resina de CMK porque los radios de las originales quedan fuera de escala y desmerecen el conjunto, el set de CMK en impresión en 3D es magnífico con un sutil efecto de peso, solo he tenido que repasar el diámetro de los ejes para que encajen a la perfección.
En la próxima sesión quiero añadirle el cableado y dejarla lista para pintar.

W.I.P. Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf. E/F, Tamiya 1/35 (1)

As I announced some time ago, I am preparing a course of improvement of military vehicles modelling to be given in my club, Almeria Modelismo, I am preparing it conscientiously to make it as profitable as possible.
The assembly is going to be divided in two phases, the basic plastic one and the detailed one with photoetched parts and other materials.
At the moment, and in order to prepare the classes well, I have the first phase of assembly ready, the basic plastic one.
I will keep updating the progress.

Como ya anuncié hace un tiempo, estoy preparando un curso de perfeccionamiento de modelismo de vehículos militares a impartir en mi club, Almeria Modelismo, lo estoy preparando a conciencia para que resulte lo más provechoso posible.
El montaje, se va a dividir en dos fases, el básico de plástico y el de detallado con fotograbados y otros materiales.
De momento, y para preparar bien las clases, tengo listo la primera fase de montaje, la básica de plástico.
Seguiré actualizando los avances.

Drawing: X-24A

Another little drawing to start Sunday, in this case of one of those ‘crazy’ experimental planes of the 60s: the X-24A.
This time I have coloured it with Van Gogh Neutral Tint and Carbon Black watercolours, and some touching up with Pablo white pencil from Caran D’ache on on 230 gr. paper.

Otro dibujillo para empezar el domingo, en este caso el de uno de esos»locos» aviones experimentales de los años 60: el X-24A.
En esta ocasión he coloreado con acuarelas Van Gogh Neutral Tint y Carbon Black, y algún retoque con lápiz blanco Pablo de Caran D’ache sobre papel de 230 gr.
