Este es mi segundo busto, se trata de una transformación de una referencia de Irbis Miniatures, el original es una revolucionaria en 1917, con unos cuantos retoques se puede transformar en un joven soldado del complicado invierno de 1942. En este caso será un «Krasnoarmeets» (Soldado Raso) de la VVS, la Fuerza Aérea Soviética.
This is my second bust, It’s a transformation of an Irbis Miniatures item, the original is a revolutionary in 1917, with a few touches you can transform it into a young soldier of the complicated winter of 1942. In this case it will be a «Krasnoarmeets» (Private) of the VVS, the Soviet Air Force.
Lo primero fue retirar los mechones de cabello, para convertirlo en un joven recién incorporado a filas, la segunda operación, fue retirar el broche de tela, para convertir el capote en uno Modelo 1935, de uso común en la época. Una vez retirado el broche se textura con putty, para imitar el recio paño con el que estaban confeccionados. Para terminar se imprima con Primmer gris de Vallejo:
First, I remove the strands of hair, to make him a young man recently incorporated into the army, second was to remove cloth clasp, to make a Model 1935 greatcoat commonly used at the time. Once removed the clasp, the overcoat is textured with putty, to imitate the strong cloth with which they were made. Finally, I primmer with Vallejo’s gray Primmer:
Como es habitual, comienzo pintando las carnaciones, para la ocasión he usado Acrílicos Artisticos de Golden y Winsor & Newton, para la base he usado una mezcla de Rojo Cadmio Claro, Amarillo Cadmio y Blanco, aplicado con aerografo:
As usual, I start painting the flesh tones, I used Golden and Winsor & Newton Artistic Acrylics Colors, for the base I used a mixture of Light Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow and White, applied with an airbrush:
Para iluminar añado más Blanco y Amarillo Cadmio, aplicándolo muy diluido y en sucesivas aplicaciones muy suaves, proyectando con el aerógrafo desde arriba:
To illuminate, I add more Cadmium White and Yellow, applying it very diluted and in successive very soft applications, projecting with the airbrush from above:

Para sombrear se añade a la base, Sombra Tostada, Rojo Cadmio y Azul Ultramar, repitiendo las aplicaciones muy suaves, proyectando, esta vez, con el aerógrafo desde abajo:
For shadings, I add to the base color, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Red and Ultramarine Blue, repeating the very soft applications, projecting, this time, with the airbrush from below:
Aqui se termina el aerógrafo, y a partir de ahora toca el pincel, de momento el blanco de los ojos, realizado con Blanco, manchado con un poco de Carne Base, y una pizca de Azul Ultramar:
The airbrush work is finished, now I must continue with the brush, for the moment I paint the eyes white, made with White, with a Flesh Base color speck, and a pinch of Ultramarine Blue:
